Coachella Weekend 1 Recap: Fashion, Friends & Desert Magic
There’s nothing quite like that first moment when you step onto the Empire Polo Grounds during Coachella weekend. The sun’s warm, the bass is bumping, and you know you’re about to be swept up into three days of music, art, and style that’s become iconic in its own right.
This year, was my first time at Coachella. I went with two girlfriends — we took in every moment from golden hour sets to dance parties at T-Pain and Charlie XCX.
Festival Fits
You know I had to bring the looks. I planned my outfits far in advance. Coachella is such a scene for the stylish and it’s a very fun place to people watch. I played with bold silhouettes, layered textures, and color. I had a silver leopard print set for the first day, a white lace top, black shorts and comfortable cowboy inspired boots for the second day. I wore a black skirt, denim crop top and brown belt for the third day. Let’s be real, you’re walking miles and dancing for hours so I also tried to keep comfort in mind.
Pro tip: The heat was excruciating, topping 101 each day we were there, so try to keep this in mind when planning your fits.
Music Moments
From underground techno in the Yuma Tent to huge headliners on the main stage, the sound at Coachella is unreal. We caught everything from house sets to surprise guests (like Ciara at Meg Thee Stallion), but one of my favorite moments was catching sunset while a Above and Beyond dropped a melodic set that had the whole crowd in sync. You just can’t replicate that energy.
Camping Chronicles
We camped in Car & Tent Camping, which honestly adds a whole new layer to the experience. Waking up with your crew, doing coffee runs in bikinis and bandanas, and meeting your neighbors just feels so communal. And yes, there were plenty of morning outfit planning sessions and skincare routines in tiny mirrors — we made it work. Would I do it again? Absolutely not. I would 100% stay in a hotel or airbnb if I go to Coachella again.
Content Creation at Coachella
Let’s talk content. Coachella is visually stunning. Between the art installations, stages, and the festival fashion, it’s a creative playground. I filmed a ton of BTS for YouTube, snapped day-to-night outfit photos, and even carved out time to edit on site (thank you portable chargers).
Final Thoughts
Coachella is one of those events that lives up to the hype if you go into it with the right mindset. Be open. Hydrate.!Say yes to random dance circles and early morning talks with strangers-turned-friends. The weekend moves fast.
If you’re thinking of going next year, start planning now. It’s worth it.
