How to Spend 4 Days in PARIS France | Travel Itinerary

There’s something about Paris in November that feels like stepping into a snow globe. The crisp air, the scent of roasted chestnuts wafting from street vendors, and vin chaud (warm wine) at a Christmas market feels like a fairytale. This is when the City of Light truly lives up to its name, as twinkling holiday displays illuminate every boulevard and alleyway, transforming Paris into a dazzling wonderland.

I was lucky enough to experience this magic firsthand. As I wandered through the city with my friend who has lived there for 5 years as my tour guide.

A Hidden Treasure: The Vintage Market

One of the most unexpected and delightful surprises was stumbling upon a vintage market tucked away in a quiet Parisian street. Tables overflowed with antique jewelry, and designer shoes and bags, each with its own story. It was a treasure hunter’s paradise, but I was just window shopping.

Uncovering History: The Museum of Jewish Art

Another highlight of my visit was the Museum of Jewish Art and History, an intimate space that beautifully preserves and showcases Jewish culture. One exhibit, in particular, caught my attention—a section dedicated to folklore and mythology, where I learned about the legend of the dybbuk, a restless spirit said to wander the earth. The eerie yet fascinating stories added a mystical element to my trip, reminding me how Paris is not just a city of beauty but also one of deep, layered history.

A Culinary Adventure: Food Markets & Morning Croissants

Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without indulging in its world-renowned food markets— crepes, freshly made pasta and risotto from a bustling Italian market, the creamiest French cheeses, and golden, buttery croissants every single morning. Each bite was a reminder of why Paris is the culinary capital of the world.

Modern Art: A Bold Contrast

The modern art museum was another stop that left me inspired. Walking through the exhibitions, I found myself immersed in bold colors, abstract forms, and thought-provoking installations. The juxtaposition of contemporary works against the historic backdrop of Paris made the experience all the more captivating.

The Magic of Galeries Lafayette

Every year, this iconic department store transforms into a glittering spectacle. The towering Christmas tree, and the Swarovski crystals displayed, shimmered under the grand dome. It was breathtaking—pure holiday magic encapsulated in crystal and gold. I stood with an older couple admiring the Swarovski display for a few minutes as they exclaimed to each other, and myself how playful and fun it was.

A Rooftop View to Remember

Before leaving, I made my way to the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette, a spot that offers one of the most spectacular views of the city. From up there, the rooftops of Paris stretched out before me, with the Eiffel Tower twinkling in the distance like a beacon of romance. The cool November breeze carried with it the sounds of the city below.

There’s a reason they say Paris is always a good idea. But Paris in November, when the city is aglow with festive cheer and the romance of the season is palpable in the air? That is an experience that lingers in your heart long after you’ve left.

Have you ever visited Paris during the holidays? I’d love to hear about your favorite festive moments in the comments!
